This #76 car was the stablemate of Posey's #77 Challenger during the 1970 SCCA Trans-Am season. Posey raced the #77 car in the first five races of the season, but then switched to the #76 car for races at Donnybrooke, Mont-Tremnblant, Kent and Riverside.
As legend has it, the reason that Posey alternated between the two cars was because the Autodynamics team, in efforts to reduce weight, had left the #77 body in the acid bath a bit too long! Throughout the years, Posey would tell stories of how the body would barely last an entire race, and at the end of the race the team would have to weld the body back together! Fortunately the team got it right with this #76 car as it accounted for seven of the team's 18 points during the 1970 season which pushed them to a fourth place finish overall!
