Famous drivers clinched sensational victories with the “Sharknose,” the first Ferrari race car powered by a mid-mounted engine. Among these pilots was Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips, the first German to join the Scuderia Ferrari and win a Grand Prix after World War II. There was also Phil Hill, the first American to win the Formula 1 World Championship in 1961.
